This Privacy Notice explains how Sadie Services ("we", "us", "our"), operator of BookSadie.com (the "Service"), collects and processes personal data. Sadie Services is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.
1. Categories of personal data we collect
- Account data: name, email, login credentials, role (customer, provider, charity, admin).
- Profile and listing data: business name, address, phone, website, category, imagery.
- Booking data: services booked, times, messages between customer and provider.
- Support data: messages you send us through support forms or email.
- Usage and telemetry: pages visited, actions taken, referral source, timestamps.
- Device data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, approximate location.
- Cookies and similar technologies (see section 8).
Payment data (card details, billing address) is collected directly by our reseller Paddle and is not stored by us.
2. Purposes and legal bases
- Creating and operating your account — performance of a contract.
- Providing the Service (search, booking, messaging, calendar) — performance of a contract.
- Security, fraud prevention, abuse detection — legitimate interests.
- Product improvement and analytics — legitimate interests.
- Customer support — performance of a contract / legitimate interests.
- Marketing communications — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Compliance with legal obligations (tax, accounting, responding to lawful requests) — legal obligation.
3. Sharing your data
We share personal data only with:
- Service providers/subprocessors that host, run, or support the Service (cloud hosting, database, email delivery, analytics, error monitoring).
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of subscriptions, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds.
- Providers and charities you book with — limited booking-related information necessary to fulfil the booking.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) under duties of confidentiality.
- Authorities where required by law.
We do not sell personal data.
4. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle disputes, comply with tax and accounting rules, and enforce our terms. When no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymised.
5. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Request erasure of your data.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Portability of data you provided to us.
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting past lawful processing).
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

6. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including where our subprocessors are located. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege database policies. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
8. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We may use analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can manage cookies in your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may break parts of the Service.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
